 Owner and Electrical Contractor, Michel de Lafontaine, has over 18 years of experience providing superior electrical services to the Truckee/Tahoe area.  MdL Electric, established in 2004, is a full-service company specializing in remodels and new construction for both residential and commercial projects.  We provide electrical services in remodeling, home automation, lighting design and troubleshooting.  Quality craftsmanship and commitment are the benchmarks of our business.

Who We Are

Michel de Lafontaine and his wife/Co-Owner, Erin, have lived in the beautiful town of Truckee for over 20 years.  The family (including two children, a dog and a cat) love the mountain life and enjoy hockey, mountain biking, and hiking. 

Our History

Michel started in the construction industry in 1988 and became an electrician in the Truckee/Tahoe area in 1998.   He started MdL Electric in 2004 and has built his business on a reputation for elegant, efficient, and professional workmanship.
